Old Blue Door

Hello Friends!

I hope everyone is having a great start to their week. We are still experiencing beautiful beach weather here in Santa Barbara.

i wanted to share with you one of the items i brought home from the Remnants of the Past show. You couldn't help but notice the door right when you walked into the show. it was draped in flowers and looked so pretty!

i love the color, the old key hole and of course the crackled paint.

i added an Anthropologie door knob to the door that I already had laying around just waiting to be used.

i'll be back later this week to show you the rest of what i picked up at the show.

until next time,

xo
Cheryl

  3. I am a huge fan of vintage doors. I have three from my grandmother's home that was built in 1894 (demolished in 2003). Your photos are just lovely.
Thank you for sharing and I wish you great success on your beautiful blog.

FIrst of all I LOVE that door! I went to Remnants of the Past, but didn't get there until 2:00 p.m. I was slightly late. I live six hours away.

  9. Hi Cheryl...I just have to tell you how much this post inspired me. :) Love the blue door you purchased and I currently have one I use as a prop for my jewelry display at shows several times a year, which is in our garage. I started remodeling a small bedroom that was our daughters when she was young to create a main floor studio/office for my business and laid laminate floors, painted and started to stage it this past week. I am now going to drag this gorgeous door I have as a prop into my room as a pop of color behind a cool vintage chippy white sewing cabinet that I use to store business paper/ink/etc. as well as the top houses my printer. It will be such a great piece to put there. I also have the cutest painting of our daughter at the delightful age of 2 walking on Daytona Beach which is in the shades of the aqua/greens/greys/whites that I'm using in my room. I am soooooo very excited now to have stumbled upon your blog. You rock girl! Thanks for the inspiration. :)
